Police asked to adopt modern methods |

Senior Superintendent of Police (Islamabad) Tahir Alam Khan has directed the officers and personnel of investigation wing to avoid violation of human rights and adopt modern techniques during the course of investigations from the arrested suspects, a police spokesman said.
The SSP issued directions Tuesday to the personnel of operational police after a meeting with Inspector General of Police (Islamabad) Syed Kaleem Imam.
SSP also held meetings with the sub-divisional police officers (SDPOs) and station house officers (SHOs) directing them to ensure friendly policing in the city and ensure protection to the rights of the citizens.
It has been also directed not to detain any person without registering the case. Policemen and officers have also been warned of stern disciplinary action in case of any violation of human rights and torture.
IGP Syed Kaleem Imam said that Islamabad police is holding the seminars for change in policing culture in which CIA staff and policemen would be given lectures regarding the human rights by the prominent lawyers and important personalities.
SSP Islamabad said that Islamabad Police is committed to improve the policing culture and it would be converted into a civilized and friendly force with the cooperation of the community.
Human Right Cell has been also established under the supervision of SP (Legal) Javed Iqbal Khattak in the office of SSP.

A team has been also constituted under the supervisor of DSP security, which would conduct visit at the police pickets and brief the personnel for adopting polite attitude with the citizens.
