| Swelling occurs when fluid builds up in the body’s tissues. The US National Library of Medicine offers this list of common causes of swelling: Today’s Health Tips * Sunburns and other burns. * Health conditions such as heart failure, liver failure or chronic kidney disease. * Pregnancy. * Thyroid disease. * Too much salt (sodium). * A side effect of certain drugs, including some steroids, blood pressure medicines, painkillers or estrogen. * Poor nutrition. |
